I attended a bowl game at Ford Field in 2007 so things may be different from the last time I visited. The area of Detroit felt pretty safe and well patrolled by stadium security and police. We parked in a lot near the people mover and walked over to the ballpark. Both Comerica Park and Ford Field are right next to each other so you could park for both stadiums.

Ford Field offers an indoor NFL experience in the heart of downtown Detroit, serving as home to the Detroit Lions in a venue that blends modern design with historic elements.
Located downtown, the stadium is accessible by car, rideshare, and nearby transit options.
The seating bowl keeps fans close to the field, helping build a strong and energetic atmosphere.
Concessions include traditional fare along with Detroit-area favorites.
After the game, fans can explore nearby downtown restaurants, bars, and entertainment venues.
All guests are subject to a screening using a wand upon entry.
Public Transit: Route 4 bus drop-off is right next to the stadium The People Mover has three stations within a half of a mile of Ford Field. The catch is that it's only useful if you're staying in downtown Detroit.
Rideshare: There are at least three taxi services available, but there is no set taxi stand for the stadium. When calling for pickup, be sure to let them know the gate where you would like to be picked up.

There are at least ten lots near the stadium including an attached parking deck. Parking lots directly next to Ford Field prohibit tailgating, but there are various third party lots that do allow it.
We're setting up a partnership with a new parking company. Stay tuned for more details.
