About Providence Park

The grounds date back to 1893 as Multnomah Field. The stadium itself opened in 1926 and has hosted a variety of football and baseball events. Not until a renovation that was completed in 2011 did soccer become the main fixture here.

Fan Tips

Providence Park is one of the most iconic soccer venues in the United States, known for its passionate supporters and intimate, historic setting.

Located in downtown Portland, the stadium is easily accessible by light rail, bus, and walking.

The steep seating and proximity to the field create an intense atmosphere, especially in the Timbers Army section.

Concessions feature local Portland vendors, giving fans a taste of the city’s well-known food scene.

After the match, the surrounding neighborhood offers plenty of bars and restaurants to continue the experience.

Security Screenings

Like almost all US and Canadian Stadiums, you will need to enter through a metal detector before entering the stadium.  Be sure to give yourself extra time and don't bring any weapons or devices that could be seen as a weapon inside.  Pat down searches may be required.

Bag Policy

All bags larger than 14"x14"x6" such as backpacks, suitcases, beach bags, etc. will be prohibited from entry into the arena.  All bags are subject to inspection before entry.

Note: Bag and security policies listed above are for typical sporting events. Special events, concerts, and other situations may result in variations. Please check the event website for any changes.
