Member Review - D.J. Fluck of Stadium Scene

The fieldhouse was opened in the late 1990s, but it has been kept up to date very well over the years.  The design of the building is a wonderful tribute to Indiana's rich history with the sport of basketball.

About Gainbridge Fieldhouse

Opening in 1999, Gainbridge (formerly Conseco and Bankers Life) Fieldhouse replaced the old Market Square Arena. Due to Indiana's rich basketball tradition, the Fieldhouse was designed to be similar to the legendary Hinkle Fieldhouse on the campus of Butler University.

Fan Tips

Gainbridge Fieldhouse is widely considered one of the best basketball-focused arenas in the country, with a design that prioritizes sightlines and fan experience.

Located in downtown Indianapolis, the arena is easy to access and surrounded by a walkable entertainment district.

Inside, the seating bowl is steep and well-designed, keeping fans close to the court and creating a strong connection to the game.

Food options include a mix of traditional and local favorites, with efficient service throughout the concourses.

After the game, downtown Indianapolis offers plenty of nearby options, making it easy to extend the evening.

Security Screenings

Like almost all US and Canadian Stadiums, you will need to enter through a metal detector before entering the stadium.  Be sure to give yourself extra time and don't bring any weapons or devices that could be seen as a weapon inside.  Pat down searches may be required.

Bag Policy

All bags larger than 6"x9"x1.5" such as backpacks, suitcases, beach bags, etc. will be prohibited from entry into the arena.  All bags are subject to inspection before entry.  For more information or special event rules, see the stadium website.

Note: Bag and security policies listed above are for typical sporting events. Special events, concerts, and other situations may result in variations. Please check the event website for any changes.
