About Charlotte Motor Speedway

With its first race in 1960, this 1.5 mile track hosts NASCAR racing including the Coca-Cola 600 on Memorial Day weekend, the NASCAR All-Star Race, and the Bank of America 500. The quad oval has turns banked at 24 degrees. This complex is 2,000 acres and also features a .25 mile four-lane drag strip.

Tour Info

You can take a tour of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series garage, ride through the race track and get your picture in "Winner's Circle", and also learn some history of the track while riding in a comfortable van.

Fan Tips

Charlotte Motor Speedway serves as a centerpiece of American motorsports, hosting major NASCAR events including the Coca-Cola 600 and the Bank of America ROVAL 400.

Located in Concord near Charlotte, the track is primarily accessed by car and rideshare.

Grandstand seating offers expansive views, with multiple configurations for oval and road course events.

Concessions include a wide range of traditional and regional options.

Race weekends feature extensive fan zones, events, and a strong motorsports atmosphere.

Security Screenings

Like almost all US and Canadian Stadiums, you will need to enter through a metal detector before entering the stadium.  Be sure to give yourself extra time and don't bring any weapons or devices that could be seen as a weapon inside.  Pat down searches may be required.

Bag Policy

One soft-sided bag or soft-sided cooler no larger than 14" x 14" x 14" may be brought into the track.  All bags subject to search before entry.

Getting to Charlotte Motor Speedway

Public Transit: A complimentary shuttle services the area around the speedway. Stops include at Gates 2, 3, 4, 7/8, 12, 18, 26 and 30. The shuttle begins at noon on race days until about two hours after the event. See the link below for the route. http://www.charlottemotorspeedway.com/fans/maps/ From the Downtown Charlotte Transportation Center, you can take Route 80x to the track at a stop on Bruton Smith Blvd, just a .3 mile walk to the track. Check the link below for more information. http://charlottenc.gov/cats/bus/routes/Pages/default.aspx A tram services the area surrounding the speedway and the route is shown in the link below: http://www.charlottemotorspeedway.com/fans/maps/ To get around Concord near the speedway, you can take the Orange, Red, and Purple Tram service. The Red Tram stop is closest to the speedway with about a 1 mile walk to the Tram stop.

Rideshare: There does not appear to be a designated drop-off/pick-up area.
