I was here for a hot summer day but still had a great time. This stadium is very spacious, and there are a lot of spaces to tuck away from the sun or heat of the summer. The food is mostly just standard ballpark food, but there are some specialties around the main concourse. I would recommend taking a loop around the entire main concourse.

Stadium Information

About Citi Field:

Citi Field opened in 2009 and replaced Shea Stadium. Citi Field is the new home of the New York Mets. Of course, The Mets brought with them the giant apple which sits in center field and raises up whenever a Mets player hits a home run!

Tour Info:

A variety of tour options are available. Please visit tour information for latest schedule and pricing!

Security Screenings:

Like almost all US and Canadian Stadiums, you will need to enter through a metal detector before entering the stadium.  Be sure to give yourself extra time and don't bring any weapons or devices that could be seen as a weapon inside.  Pat down searches may be required.

Bag Policy:

Purses, diaper bags that are not backpack style, tote and drawstring bags are allowed as long as they’re not larger than 16”x16”x8". Backpacks are no longer allowed unless they are totally clear with no obscured interior pockets.

Note: Bag and security policy listed above are for typical sporting events. Special events, concerts, and other situations may result in variation to the policy. Please check event website for any changes or variation.

Parking & Transportation

Parking Options

There are several lots at Citi Field. The primary lots only have one lot that accommodates general parking. The rest of the general parking spaces are remote lots.

We're setting up a partnership with a new parking company. Stay tuned for more details!

Bus Service:

You may take the Q48 bus from Queens to Citi Field. If you take another bus, transfer to the 7 train to get to the game.

Rail Service:

You may take either the NYC Transit Subway or the Long Island Railroad (LIRR) to the Mets/Willets Point Station. The 7 train is the subway line that gets you to this station.

Taxi & Rideshare Service:

There is a free water taxi to the game from Pier 11/Wall Street. There doesn't appear to be a dedicated taxi stand.

Closest Major Airport: Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR)

Love the stadium. This was my first visiting there. My friends got us tickets and shared their experiences with us. It was fun! I was surprised how clean it...

I went to Citi Field with a friend recently, and the bar staff's behavior was incredibly disappointing. They only ID'd the women of color (myself included)...
