Stadium Information

About RFK Stadium:

The RFK Stadium opened in 1961 as a multi-purpose stadium for both football and baseball. D.C. United has played at this field since the team began in 1996. The Washington Nationals shared the field with D.C. United from 2005 to 2007, when the Nationals had complaints about the field and then moved out. D.C. United is now building a new stadium at Buzzard Point, which is scheduled to open in 2018.

Tour Info:

It does not appear that stadium tours are given at this time.

Security Screenings:

Like almost all US and Canadian Stadiums, you will need to enter through a metal detector before entering the stadium.  Be sure to give yourself extra time and don't bring any weapons or devices that could be seen as a weapon inside.  Pat down searches may be required.

Bag Policy:

All bags larger than 14"x14"x6" such as backpacks, suitcases, beach bags, etc. will be prohibited from entry into the arena.  All bags are subject to inspection before entry.

Note: Bag and security policy listed above are for typical sporting events. Special events, concerts, and other situations may result in variation to the policy. Please check event website for any changes or variation.
