Serge Ibaka got it started for the Raptors as he scored 13 points in the 1st quarter. Milwaukee's Giannis Antetokounmpo and Khris Middleton combined for 13 points, but they still were trailing the Raptors. The Raptors trailed 33-24 after the 1st quarter.

Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 10 points on the Raptors in the 2nd quarter, which was a big reason why the Bucks outscored Toronto by 7 points. After being subbed in with 4:00 minutes left to go in the half, Jonas Valanciunas came in and grabbed 4 rebounds. After chipping away at the lead, the Bucks brought it to a one-possession game. Toronto led 61-59 heading into halftime.
