The Stadium Rundown - Jan 22, 2018

Well, this Stadium Rundown is going to be a bit brief today. This week, we're going to check in again with Wrigley Field's renovations and a Lego stadium.

Wrigley Field

Wrigley Field as of January 8, 2018 - Curtis Waltz / Aerialscapes Inc.

What a mess. If you look closely at the picture, about 2/3rds of the lower level of seats are missing right now. As part of Wrigley's Renovation and modernization plan, there will be additional premium clubs added below the seating (where the team clubhouse used to be). The goal for this winter is to finish the framing and get the concrete poured and the seats in place before the start of the season in April. Work on the clubs will continue through the 2018 season and into the offseason, in order to be open in time for the 2019 season.

Will they make it in time? Yes, according to Julian Green, VP of Communication for the Cubs. Anyone who remembers the scoreboard/outfield seating fiasco from 2014/2015 is holding their breath...
